This is an exercise is identifying the electrode reactions (and the particular species involved) for voltaic and electrolytic cells. When you press "New Problem", an unbalanced cell reaction for either a voltaic or electrolytic cell will be described. You will be asked to identify a very specific species based upon the description of one of the electrode processes. Assume standard conditions and that all electrolyses are being driven in the nonspontaneous direction. Pressing "Display Potentials" will present a list half reactions used on this page, and pressing "Show Answer" will cause the correct answer to appear.
