This page provides basic exercises for calculating standard cell potentials.
When
you press "New Problem", an unbalanced redox reaction will
appear. Calculate the value of Eo in Volts, enter it in the answer cell
and
press "Check Answer." Results will appear in the main table. Redo incorrect problems.
Be careful about the sign. Positive values can be entered as is (do not use
a "+" sign. Negative values must have a "-" sign.
Pressing "Display Potentials" will display a table of cell potentials with their
unbalanced reaction
Pressing "Show Answer" will cause the correct answer to appear and you
will no longer be able to submit an answer for that problem.
